Company
Engineering capacity is the bottleneck. We are removing it.
SourcePilot does the engineering work between a customer requirement and detailed design, so manufacturers can serve more customers with the engineers they have.
Our story
More than a decade with the engineers who build things.
140,000+industrial engineers used Wikifactory, the founders’ previous platform
Before SourcePilot, the founders built Wikifactory, used by more than 140,000 industrial engineers to develop products together. Talking to them, the same problem came up again and again: the engineering itself was not the hard part. Re-deriving it for every variant, every change and every customer was.
Engineering tools had become very good at storing and organising what engineers had already decided. None of them did the deciding work: turning requirements into an architecture, sizing the parts against the physics and producing a bill of materials you could build from.
So we built one. SourcePilot computes the engineering on a single, version-controlled model of the product, and hands every result to an engineer to review and approve. We work from London and Madrid, with manufacturers across Europe.
What we believe
Why this matters now.
- 1
Products got complex. Engineering did not change.
Mechanics, electronics, software and compliance now meet in every product, and every product comes in variants. The work is still done in documents, spreadsheets and hand-offs.
- 2
Capacity, not ideas, sets the pace.
Manufacturers turn down orders, delay variants and ship first workable designs because engineering hours run out. There are not enough engineers to hire your way out.
- 3
The fastest to engineer wins the demand.
When a customer asks for something new, the company that can engineer it in days instead of months gets the order. That window is closing now, not in ten years.
- 4
AI should do the engineering. Engineers decide.
Not another layer that files what already exists. A system that computes the design, shows its working and leaves every decision to an engineer.
